Erm, I don't know

Really, for your first original flash, it was pretty poorly executed. I honestly didn't laugh once throughout the whole movie, and the animation was pretty sloppy. I'm not sure if you wanted to make it look that way or you had a short amount of time, but it seemed like there was no structure to the characters whatsoever. In regards to the humor, I could feel myself predicting some of the jokes from a mile away, and even the ending was easy to figure out before it happened. Plus, what's with the background? They can't just be sitting in the middle of a dark abyss. If they're in a basement, draw in basement walls to add more atmosphere.

Part of making a functional animation in my opinion is to have every aspect neatly put into place and cooperating together, and to me personally, it was all loosely tied with little to no sense of focus. I hate coming across as harsh about this subject, especially when I myself have yet to make animation myself, but for someone who wants to become a professional animator, it hopefully won't be bad to take in constructive criticism.

All I can say is, wow.

This is easily you're best work yet. The style was pretty freaking amazing, and nice for nabbing Harry for the voices. You actually managed to make me laugh out loud several times throughout. If you make more stuff like this, you'll be famous in no time. Not to say that you should stop making spam. That's freaking hilarious as well.

Fawx responds:

hey, a fan who likes my spam work :).

Meh...

I'm not against a Pico submission without violence, but when it's basically one giant gay joke that runs consistent throughout with no bit of cleverness put into it whatsoever, it really makes the movie hard to watch. While there were parts where I chuckled, they were few and far between. I was always a fan of your amazing story-telling ability, but for this, it seems like you didn't even bother to put effort into it. I mean, in some cases effortless flashes can be funny, but this definitely isn't a prime example of that. Sorry man, but your other work is sooooo much better.

Well, that's about it on my opinion of this. I'm looking forward to the conclusion of Nameless 6 though, so keep it up you Israeli you. :P

LazyMuffin responds:

Will do.
Thanks.

Left me in awe

Everything about this animation was far beyond superb. The whole style really made it seem like an oldie cartoon, and when mixed with the Pico universe, it ends with funny results. Plus, the animation was smooth and flawless. The character actually had a feel that would make them seem like they could come to life at any moment. There are many more things I could say, but if I did, this review would take up the whole page.

To wrap this up, I'd say not only do I think this is the best submission of Pico Day, but it's probably the best animation submitted to Newgrounds thus far this year. You've been a great contender in past Pico Days, and you're long overdue to win one; this could be your year.

Heh, pretty good

This actually felt like an Awesome movie unlike some of the other tributes. The whole thing gave great nostalgia to MGA without stealing the concept entirely. Also, I love the gags that made it seem like the toon was ending in the middle of it. I fell for it each time, and it was pretty funny.

Lalo responds:

Thanks :)

Best Shape Flash

This beats Stamper N' Johnny by a longshot. FUnny about the subject, because I was just talking about the same thing today. There is some strange, truthful lesson in this movie.

All in all, if Tom doesn't front page this, he must be having one bad birthday.

Hey jerk puns are lazy writing!

Being serious though, nice shading. It added a lot to the look of your artstyle.

Kyaztro responds:

Yeah I might as well make crap submissions like these look good

Cute

The whole concept of Cthulhu living a normal life while unnoticeably ruining others is pretty freaking funny. The way you designed Cthulhu was also clever. Since you went with the more friendly look, it made it funny to see him wreck through everyone. You're ideas are constantly giving me pleasure (not that kind you sick minded perv).

Good luck with future projects. I'll be looking forward to them!

Battosai810 responds:

Well, if you did get that sort of pleasure from this flash, I wouldn't judge you ;)
Glad you liked it!

Loved it

The twist ending reminded me of Chuck's New Tux, an alltime favorite of mine. The animation was smooth and simple, and the runtime wasn't longer than it needed to be. Hope to see more. :)

Peculiar indeed.

For some reason this has to be one of the catchiest songs you've made. I have no idea why, but that's pretty much what I think with all of your songs. Good job.
