WHAAAAAT IS THIS PLACE!?

No offense Ego and Tomar, but I really don't see how you could make a whole series out of this. Yes, I get it. It's a parody of those old low budget dubs with little effort and editing put into them. But honestly, where's the originality? These jokes have been done in almost every form of media I can imagine for many years, so what makes this special? As far as I can see, almost nothing.

I'd be a total asshole of I didn't comment on the animation though. It was very colorful and easy on the eyes, though then again, there wasn't much animation. That I understand since that was what those kinds of animes were like, so I can't really penalize you for that. But in all seriousness, you really are shining as a more artistic animator as of late.

The problem I guess I have is that it's just too much like the thing you're parodizing. At least with Awesome you're able to understand through the entire movie that it's clearly a bunch of jokes, but with this, I feel that you spent too much time showing what these shows were like rather than actually implement well placed jokes into it. And most of the jokes that stood out (such as the constant zooming in and shock reactions) were shoved everywhere to the point where it made me want to shut off the computer. In a real anime like this, they have those a lot, but they're spread out. It'd probably have a lot more of an effect if you did the same. The one time I actually reacted in a positive way to a joke is when the artist got the crap beaten out of him. It's not because of the violence, but the reaction. He actually emoted in a way that contrasted what everyone else was doing. I guess contrast was what this was definitely lacking in, and I'd probably end up liking this more if there was more present.

So, yeah, the animation and art were good, but in the end, this is overdone, unfunny, and completely generic for what an anime parody could be. I was hoping this would end up being a series that I enjoy, but with how this turned out as a sequel, I doubt that'll be the case. For now, I'll wait until the fanboys mark this useless; it's only a matter of time.

you can make fun of something without pointing at it and saying that it's stupid.

That... was... insane.

But what else am I supposed to expect from a collab based on a talking pineapple?

Let me just cut to the chase and say that I absolutely loved this collab. Every part was amazing in its own way, and the whole French theme actually added more humor to it. It may be due to the fact that I take French that I was able to get some of the jokes, but I'd still probably like it regardless.

Like I said above, I loved it Rob. This has to go down as one of my favorite collabs of all time.

Bobert-Rob responds:

Well awesome, I'm glad you like it! It's not something everyone will get, surely, but it's definitely good in its own right. Take care!

Genius

This was honestly hilarious. I mean, everything (the sound effects, the drawings, the voices) was just so hilariously unfitting that it actually boosted the delivery by 100%.

Pure gold. That's all I have to say.

ZILLIS responds:

Hell, Yeah! That's what I call a review!
Thanks for the score and keep an eye out for the next episode!

Haha

I'll admit, I laughed.

HolyKonni responds:

Wow it's that guy that writes really long posts at UPWN! Just kidding, and thanks for the review!

One step forward - one step back

As much as I liked this movie, I feel there was some things missing. Don't get me wrong; the animation was lively and the expressions were pretty funny, but the whole concept seemed to have a sort of "been there, done that" sort of vibe. I've seen a lot of these Ol' Timey style animations on Newgrounds, and while I'll admit to being a huge fan of that style, it just seemed to lack an original charm that could've made it perfect.

I do realize also that that's how most silent films usually play out, but considering it's about Transformers, it seems like there would be a lot more funny possibilities to play out other than the simple plot of finding the Autobot and talking about going after the Decepticons. I still don't want to give the impression that I didn't like it, because then I probably wouldn't have given it eight stars. It was very charming and well put together. When pulling off a change of pace like this, I could only imagine what you could make next.

JohnnyUtah responds:

So in other words, you think something is missing, yet you dont know what. You think there could have been a different plot, but you dont know what. You just have these "feelings"...

you are not very helpful sir.

Aww man

Sorry I couldn't get mine done in time. I was white water rafting in Wisconsin and all, so it sort of rendered me useless in the Flash category. :P Best wishes to him anyway!

Insanimation responds:

You can make something and I'll add it in later if you want. :D

No matter how much some will hate it...

...this will be forever stenciled into the golden history of Newgrounds. If only others could appreciate your amazing art and perspective.

W-P-S responds:

thank you kindly!

Good to see your return

Your new style is definitely very interesting and easy on the eyes. Not to mention that all the humor from the previous Sketched toons is still in tact. The prospector was delightfully twisted. Can't wait to see the next.

sirjeffofshort responds:

Thanks! I'm glad to year you like the new animation style. More are on the way.

Oh God

You share my exact thoughts on the Chibi Transformers bit. I still to this day consider it comedic gold.

AlmightyHans responds:

unintentional comedic gold. at least unintentional to the level of funnies it reached.

Wow

I don't think I laughed once. It was almost painful how terribly executed the humor was. Not to mention this idea is very unoriginal and very badly executed. There are much better versions of this kind of video. Plus, the animation was stale boring tweens with an uninteresting art style. Oh how amazing.

I also love how when you say this, you still make random video game parodies that fall prone to everything you're making fun of. Plus, those are even less funny and very VERY forced. Please, please stick to serious animation. Humor definitely isn't your strong suit.

BiffTheTimid responds:

Hey man, thanks for the review. It's always nice to check my old movies and see new comments. I'll take what you said into consideration, but I was thinking. I might have a better idea. Instead of me sticking to serious animation (since its obviously not my strong suit), you go fuck your own face.
