Ugh...
I really felt like avoiding this for a while now, just due to the fact that it seemed like the average overrated Newgrounds tribute. With nothing better to do, I decided to check this out.
Well, it turned out that this was everything I thought it would be and then some. Why people adore this is beyond my comprehension. The whole thing was a cluttered mess and an EXTREMELY poor excuse for a tribute.
To start, I would barely even consider this a tribute. It was more like a slideshow of artwork/lazy tweens showing the characters in their environments. Even for something that was done in eight days, it seems so poorly put together that it seems like you made it in three. Plus, you could've added you're own style to the characters instead of copying them exactly or close to how they're drawn by the original artists. That I'm not bothered by as much, but it still annoys me a bit that you basically copied everyone else's style.
When it comes to the organization, that too was terrible. The music was painful to listen too in my personal opinion, but more importantly, I felt like it barely fit in with the whole feeling you tried to portray. On that subject, for what you call a tribute, it really fails to leave an impact on what movies you had in it. It almost disgraced them in the fact that you only show a little bit of each. If I was someone who didn't come to Newgrounds often and didn't know who half of these characters were, I still wouldn't after this movie was over. In my opinion, a tribute should display the aspects of what the original piece of media was truly about.
To wrap this up, the whole thing was just plain awful, unorganized, and uninspired. THe latter is pretty ironic, considering a tribute should seem inspired by the original content; this just failed to leave that impression for me. And to be honest, I truly feel that the only reason this has such a high score is because it's a Newgrounds tribute. Hell, if I had the motivation to do what you did and throw together a tribute like this in a week or two, it would probably get a bunch of recognition and praise. But that's just my own thoughts, which are completely separate from the review itself.
But yeah, go ahead and mark this useless; despite me pointing out some flaws with good reasons that back them up and gave some insight on how to improve, all of the rabid fans will probably just ignore my critiques and just rate badly solely because I gave this a two. Go a head. I won't mind; it'll only support my previously stated opinions further.
